Info 563 Case Reflection: Harley Davidson

When I think of Harley Davidson, I think of the word “Innovation”. I feel that the reason why Harley Davidson is in this situation is because of that fact that they did not innovate enough.  Although, H-D was successful in the past through being effective in marketing, management, and manufacturing, I feel that Harley Davidson became too comfortable with their system. This led their competitor like Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha to enter the U.S. Motorcycle industry and to catch up to Harley Davidson.

However, I feel that it is not too late for Harley Davidson to close the gaps of the problems that exist and to innovate. Harley Davidson is still rank 458 in nation and is still known as the oldest and arguably most renowned producer of motorcycles in the United States. As long as H-D has identified what the problem is and is trying to resolve it, H-D is in the right direction to success.
