Info 563 Case Reflection: Accenture

After having the meeting on Wednesday with our consultants Varsha and Roshari, I came to a conclusion of supporting the ITIL management system.

Since August 7, 2000, Andersen Consulting paid 1 billion dollars to Andersen and gave up its name in exchange for independence. Since then, it took up the challenge to adopt the Accenture name in a 175 million rebranding campaign. Accenture had an opportunity seldom presented to an organization its size since Accenture was born in harsh economic times. However, Accenture has overcome this rough time by outsourcing to reduce IT cost.

As one of the C-level executive members, I believe ITIL will help Accenture’s determination to run IT-like business, managing a nimble and flexible IT department with some of the lowest per-employee costs in its sector, without sacrificing the quality or inventiveness of the technology tools it offered to its consultants and clients.

-           Some benefits of ITIL

o   Improve IT services

o   Trustworthy Brand Name

o   Reduced Cost

o   Improved customer satisfaction through a more professional approach to service delivery

o   Improve productivity

o   Improve use of skills and experience

o   Improved delivery of third party service
